When a trip to Italy is not in your cards this year, treat
yourself to authentic vintage Italian jewelry. The next best thing to visiting
the tourist attractions and making these finds on your own is the opportunity
to pick out something that has withstood the test of time. We have put together
a collection of pieces that offer a glimpse into Italian artistry.
Double Aquamarine Ring with Diamond Paves in White Gold
This ring is an Antonini Panama designer original. Artisans
fashioned an 18k white gold setting that cradles two oval blue aquamarines with
slight green tones. The gems’ combined weight is 22.0cts. For sparkle, the
jewelry makers added a double diamond pave presentation consisting of 75
full-cut diamonds with a total weight of .40cts. This is new old stock and has
never been worn. When you are looking for an unusual ring this summer, do not
let this beauty pass you by.
You can just imagine fashionable Italian women wearing these curved clip and post earrings in the 1960s. They consist of 18k yellow gold
settings with a width of 18mm. Two natural orange citrines display in a
cabochon cut and weigh a combined 17.5cts. From top to bottom, the earrings
measure 30mm. Black enameling creates an attractive visual counterpoint to the
orange color of the stones.
This is not your average pearl bracelet. Artisans in the
1950s used 18k yellow gold to create the clasp and settings that would hold
three rows of pearls and cobalt blue enameled beads. Thirty-three Japanese cultured pearls show off their silvery colorations. They measure 5mm each.
Braided gold spacers and elongated beads set off one pearl from another, which
heightens their beautiful nature and luster.
For a remarkable look, you cannot go wrong with these
Italian 18k yellow gold earrings. They are clip-and-fold-down-post earrings,
which makes them suitable for pierced or non-pierced ears. The oval hardstone
carving is intricate and eye-catching. The careful decorative working of the
gold offers a unique design that you do not see everyone wearing. From top to
bottom, these earrings measure 32mm; their width measures 19mm.
The hallmark on this Italian masterpiece from the 1970s
identifies the Cleopatra-style necklace as a PON original. The jeweler took
carefully measured pieces of 14k yellow gold, textured them, and then aligned
them one next to the other. Although it may remind of the Egyptian pharaoh,
this necklace is a fine example of Italian artistry.
