What sets apart precious corals from others is the color you
see. Vibrant reds and deep pinks are hallmarks of these marine animals. Vintage
jewelry makers would rely on specimens from the Mediterranean Sea to create the
most stunning pieces. Nowadays, reef destruction and harvesting bans make the
finds of red corals in particular relatively rare. Fortunately, many vintage
jewels featuring this natural gem still exist. We have put together a list of
some of the most beautiful pieces we currently have in stock.
Italian Horn Pendant with 18k Yellow Gold Jump Ring
We date this horn-shaped coral to the 1950s. Italian
artisans used 18k yellow gold to form a top and jump ring. The coral piece has
not undergone any form of treatment other than exceptionally well-done
polishing. From top to bottom, the pendant measures 46.38mm. From side to side,
the measurement is 11.75mm. Choose this pendant to accessorize a summer
wardrobe or accentuate citrus tones.
Orange to Red Coral Ring in Yellow Gold
The red of this 1960s ring has distinctive orange undertones. They create an almost salmon coloring effect. Artisans cut the
coral into an oval cabochon that measures 13.56mm by 9.37mm and set it into an
18k yellow gold ring. Its top width is 17.13mm while its bottom width is only
2.65mm, which makes wear comfortable.
Italian Pin Featuring Whimsical Tomatoes Fashioned from Coral
When you value excellent workmanship, then this pin
delivers. It starts with 18k yellow gold and finely worked leaves. Bright green
enameling provides the illusion of the tomato foliage. For the fruits, artisans
chose six orange to red coral beads. Each features an attractive polish that
looks gorgeous. The entire pin measures 61.16mm in height and 28.46mm in width.
Untreated Coral Earrings in Yellow Gold
The attractive appearance of the yellow gold and red coral combination is evident. These untreated red corals present with beautiful translucency.
They measure 12.63mm by 7.84mm. Jewelry makers set them in 18k yellow gold. We
acquired the earrings as new old stock from a jeweler on the West Coast; they
bear the Bergio designer hallmark. Once you try on this set of earrings, you
will not want to take it off.
Coral Fish Pendant Featuring Multiple Color Hues
Are you looking for something that is unusual? This carved coral fish delivers! The artists used 18k yellow gold to create a fish-shaped
bail. The pendant presents with a red body that also shows off orange and white
tones. From every angle, this is a great-looking pendant.
