Give the Gift of a Rare Vintage Black Opal

Discovery News calls the black opal “the rarest and most valuable” of opals. Its desirability is on par with that of high-quality diamonds. While collectors accept a variety of base colors that include various shades of gray and greens, the background of the stone must feature an indisputable black color. Peter Suchy Jewelers are pleased to present you with a number of jewels that prominently display this highly desirable gemstone. Give the gift of a rare black opal for the holidays or for any other occasions. Who knows, you might just buy one for yourself!

Platinum Ring with Black Opal and Diamonds

Because of the evident Art Deco motifs, we date this ring tothe 1920. Handmade from platinum, this vintage ring features a round black opal weighing 1.94cts. It is very clear and – because of its dome shape – seems to display its blue, green and yellow as well as red swirls in a 3-D effect. The gem has not been treated and is clearly a genuine black crystal opal. Two straight-cut baguette diamonds and six round diamonds bring sparkle to the table.

Yellow Gold Pendant with Pear-shaped Opal

Artisans chose 18k yellow gold to hug the 45.0cts translucent black opal. The setting is simple and draws attention to the large pear-shaped gem that has clear blue flashes. Attached to the setting is a 14k gold neck chain. This is the perfect gift for the nature lover who likes to wear gems looking as close to their original state as possible.

Yellow Gold Pendant with Natural Opal and Diamond

A setting made of 14k yellow gold frames a black oval opal weighing 1.85cts. The gemstone delights with its orange flashes. The round diamond weights in at .10cts and assists with the transition from setting to neck chain. The pendant measures 13/16 inches by 9/32 inches.

Yellow and White Gold Flower Ring with Opal and Diamonds

When only an astonishing piece of focal point jewelry will do, choose this flower design ring. A 14k yellow gold setting holds a black king opal weighing 1.85cts. The artisans created the ring’s top to showcase a flower design that accommodates four round diamonds weighing .12cts. Their settings are made of white gold to heighten the sparkle of the stones. Look for some green, blue and yellow flashes in the opal.

Pear-shaped Opal Pendant in Yellow Gold Bezel Setting

The 18k solid yellow gold holds a multi-colored pear-shaped black opal in its separate setting. The gemstone is bezel set in 14k yellow gold. Enjoy the flashes of blue and green that radiate from the 8.0cts boulder opal.
