Cocktail Rings Part II – Our Favorite Unusual Designs

In addition to being highly noticeable fashion accessories, some artisans have succeeded in creating artistic renditions that turn heads. These rings are exceptional and well worth a second look.

Gold Peacock Ring with Assorted Gemstones 

This gem is the kind of ring that you have to see to believe. The setting material is 14k yellow gold. Shaped like a peacock with long gorgeous tail feathers, this design is ideal for the presentation of multiple gems that create a colorful ensemble. Artisans created a focal point with the display of a blue sapphire in a pear shape. Weighing in at .60cts, it measures 7mm by 4mm.

Next, there are six single-cut diamonds with a collective weight of .10cts. Four round blue sapphires with a combined weight of .15cts add further blue tones. Three round red rubies weigh a total of .10cts and delight as a visual counterpoint to the two emeralds that weigh a combined .06cts. At the top, the ring has a width of 43.52mm, which tapers down to 2.24mm at the bottom. When you wear this cocktail ring, you are sure to get plenty of attention.

Victorian Garnet Pin Converted to a Ring 

This unique ring started as a silver pin with a gold base in the 1840s. Forty-eight bright red to brown garnets stud the shape that resembles a slender ribbon bow. Their combined weight is 6.0cts. The middle part features ten natural half pearls that measure from 1.7mm to 2mm. In the 1940s, the pin’s owner decided to transform the brooch into a ring by adding a 14k yellow gold base with intricate side work. At the top, the ring displays a width of 52.77mm. Choose this jewel for formal occasions or when going out at night.

1970s Mabe Pearl Ring with Diamonds in a Yellow Gold Setting 

You do not see pearl rings with large mabes that often. This one is an exception. Set in a 14k yellow gold ring that shows off exquisite artistry, this 15mm pearl displays a high luster. Jewelry makers added six round full cut diamonds with a combined .12cts weight. The ring’s top width is 21.89mm with a height of 12.12mm.
