What Happens When You Combine Pink Gold with Art Deco Style Elements?

When you mix copper as an alloy with gold, you get the famous pink or rose color. The Art Deco era is known for its use of geometric style elements as decorative designs. Although the metal of choice during the two decades that mark this era was platinum, some artisans combined the warmth of pink gold with the shapes of the time. The resulting pieces deepen the beauty of the designs by creating some shade displays that you simply do not get with platinum. Look closely, and you see exactly what we mean.

1940s Late Retro Art Deco Accordion Necklace

Designers started with 18k medium pink gold for this accordion necklace. It expands from 17 inches to 18 inches. The three-dimensional design adds depth to the look that easily turns this piece into a statement necklace. At a width of 5.7mm to 11.1mm, it hugs the curves of your neck. When you are in the market for a piece that advertises your flair for yesteryear’s artistry, this is an excellent pick.

1940s Retro Art Deco Pink Gold Swirl Earrings with Rubies and Diamonds

The setting material for these pieces is 14k pink gold. Eight bright red rubies weigh a combined .80cts and bring the Art Deco design style to life. Four single-cut white diamonds weigh a total of .12cts and highlight the flair of another set of Art Deco elements. The dark pink of the settings brings out the color combination of the red and white gems. Consider these earrings to accessorize red, white, blue or green wardrobe selections. They pair well with sweaters, low-cut blouses or strapless dresses.

1935 Art Deco Pink and Green Gold Dangle Earrings with Rubies, Diamonds and Rutilated Quartz

If ever there was a perfect textbook example of Art Deco style, you see it exemplified with these earrings. Jewelry makers used 14k pink and green gold to design the dangle settings that display via connected links. At the bottom, you see two diamond-shaped rutilated quartz pieces with golden inclusions. They weigh a combined 29.0cts.

Artisans added eight square rubies that they channel-set into the dangle portions. These stones weigh a total of .20cts. Two old-European-cut diamonds weigh in at a collective .06cts and bring the sparkle to the settings. From top to bottom, these dangle earrings measure 2.41 inches. Their widths are 1.11 inches.
