Some of Our Favorite Vintage Jewelry From the 1920s!

We know the 1920s as the Jazz Age or the Roaring Twenties. Prohibition of alcohol had given birth to the underground bootlegging scene, and women had won the right to vote. The arts and crafts jewelry movement and Edwardian Era came to an end while the Art Deco scene heated up. Design elements common in 1920s jewelry include intricate geometric designs, emeralds, rubies and even Egyptian motifs.

Opal, Diamond and Ruby Bee Pin

Solid 14k yellow gold is the setting for this ¾-inch pin. The body is a black untreated opal. The head, too, is made of black opal. There are 36 full-cut diamonds that feature a total weight of .60cts. These diamonds adorn the wings. The insect’s eyes are made of rubies. This is the perfect piece to accent a solid-colored blouse or jacket. A conversation starter for sure, it is ideal for the jewelry lover who does not wear a lot of pieces but wants to make the ones she does wear count.

Sapphire and Diamond Platinum Ring

This cocktail ring consists of a platinum setting and a 2 carat untreated star sapphire in a cabochon cut. The color runs blue but also offers a slight hint of purple. The ring is filigreed and bead set. Ten round diamonds show off the darker sapphire color to its fullest advantage. The sparkle of the stones is certain to turn heads.

Italian Shell Cameo Earrings

These dangle earrings feature 14k yellow gold as the setting material. Italian cameo carvings are done in high relief by hand. The background has a darker color, which really brings out the beauty of the white shell faces. The slightly asymmetrical designs deepen the appeal of the earrings. You are sure to get many compliments when wearing these unique earrings.

Cultured Pearl Gold Earrings

The pearls are a creamy ivory color that is gorgeous. The 14k yellow gold offsets them beautifully. The patina that has built up over the decades gives these pieces a timeless allure. Two cultured pearls measuring about 6.6mm make up the main dangle portion. Two smaller 3.5mm pearls provide a counterpoint at the fastener. Pair them with other yellow gold pieces or pearls.

Sapphire Ring

A 14k yellow gold setting shows off a breathtaking color change sapphire in a cocktail style ring. There is a full bezel on half of the ring while two prongs hold the stone on the other side. The purple to blue color change characteristic is man-made. Enjoy the play of light and dark as you wear the marquise shaped sapphire on your hand. This is a striking piece that bespeaks sophistication and exquisite taste.
