Roberto Coin Jewelry: So Italiano!

Founded in Vicenza, Italy, in 1977, the Roberto Coin Company initially served the needs of internationally renowned fine jewelry brands. Situated near Venice and Milan, Vicenza is famous for its Renaissance culture and textile industry. Add to this the predominantly agricultural economic base of the region, and it makes sense that these surroundings have greatly influenced the artistry of Coin.

His designs became so sought after and popular that the jewelry maker decided to start the Robert Coin brand. In 1996, the artisan began marketing his own collections and success was swift. By the year 2000, the jewelry maker was a major player in the international trade. While the Roberto Coin Company remains headquartered in Vicenza, it now operates branch offices in North America, Europe and Asia.

You know that you have an authentic piece of Roberto Coin jewelry if you notice a tiny ruby set on the inside of the piece. The artist’s collections highlight Italy’s history of goldsmithing as well as the multi-ethnic influences that were part and parcel of the region’s Renaissance. Currently, there are 23 collections showcasing unique pieces.

  1. Animalier. Animals are the inspiration and expression of these pieces. Horses, lions and frogs are just a few examples.
  2. Appassionata. Interlocking ribbed gold links give these pieces a basket weave appearance.
  3. Art Nouveau. Floral motifs set the tone for these gorgeous pieces that delight in red tones.
  4. Bollicine. Envision a collection of bubbles that connect to create delicate jewels.
  5. Chic & Shine. Flat links connect to form earrings and wristlets.
