Our Favorite Colorful Gemstone Engagement Rings

The other day, we discussed that Millennials, as a group, seem to shy away from buying white diamond engagement rings. Rather than purchasing a piece of jewelry based on established traditions, these shoppers like to make their marks and go for taste rather than convention. If you, too, prefer a gorgeous colorful gem as the center of your engagement ring, we can help. We have put together a mix of engagement rings that put a sapphire rather than a diamond at the center.

Cornflower Blue Sapphire Ring in Platinum with White Diamonds

The platinum setting comes from the Peter Suchy Workshop and is a masterpiece of half circle designs. At the center, you see an entirely natural cornflower blue sapphire that weighs 8.97cts. It presents with a cushion cut. Two cushion brilliant-cut diamonds, one weighing 1.10cts and the other 1.09cts, flank this beauty. This sapphire color is something that you do not see very often.

White and Purple Sapphire Ring in Platinum with Diamonds

Once again, this setting comes from our workshop. We custom-made it to hold the round white sapphire that weighs 6.56cts. The stone’s color is completely natural. Two color-change purple sapphires, one weighing .98cts and the other weighing in at .80cts, border the center stone. To bring sparkle to the table, we added two baguette-cut diamonds with a combined weight of .34cts.

Yellow Sapphire Ring in Platinum with White Diamonds

At the heart of this engagement ring is a modified brilliant-cut, fancy yellow sapphire. It is completely natural and weighs 1.05cts. The stone dates to the 1920s while the ring’s platinum setting took shape in the 1990s. Twelve full-cut white diamonds round out the presentation. Their unusual setting design enhances the great looks of the ring. This appearance is most certainly not something that just came off the shelf.

Pink Sapphire and White Diamond Halo in a Yellow Gold Setting

Artisans began with an 18k yellow gold setting. The imprint shows the maker to be GP; the ring comes to us from a jeweler who closed the business. The sapphire is oval and presents with a gorgeous pink coloration. It weighs 2.41cts. Additionally, you notice 66 white full-cut diamonds that weigh a combined .55cts. These gems surround the oval sapphire like a halo and go halfway down the band. Additionally, they adorn the sapphire’s setting for an astonishing effect. If you only look a one gemstone engagement ring today, make it this one.
