Hot Pink Gems? We Have Those!

Hot pink is shaping up to be a popular summer color this year. Celebrities are being sighted wearing swimwear and formal dresses in this color. Tabloids are photographing the new trend that began in the United Kingdom and at some point jumped the ocean to arrive in the United States. Before long, the shade’s popularity trickles down to the fashions that we see at the department stores. Accessorizing hot pink wardrobe items used to be a bit of a struggle; it does not have to be when you own a vintage jewel (or two) displaying the same hue. What are your options?

Art Deco Rubellite Red Tourmaline Ring in Platinum with Diamonds

This beauty comes from 1935. It features a platinum ring setting that holds a cushion-cut, hot pink tourmaline weighing in at 3.89cts. To add sparkle to the mix, artisans chose to set four trapezoid diamonds with a total weight of .50cts next to the beautifully cut center stone. Another 50 round diamonds with a collective weight of .50cts adorn the setting and take on a halo function. Two bullet diamonds with a combined weight of .25cts present as visual counterpoints to the trapezoids. This ring is the kind of jewel you have to see up close and personal. It looks fantastic on the hand.

Pink Sapphire Ring in Platinum with Diamonds

If you favor rounded proportions, you cannot go wrong with this oval hot pink sapphire weighing in at 2.37cts. It is completely natural and therefore very rare. Jewelers added 80 round diamonds with a combined weight of .40cts to present as a pave. Two half-moon diamonds weigh a collective .24cts and flank the sapphire. The combination of rounded stones in different designs works beautifully to present you with a jewel that is as unique as it is attractive.

Hot Pink to Red Tourmaline Earrings with Rubies and Diamonds in Pink Gold

Do you adore pink in all its forceful shades? This pair of earrings is for you. It starts with the 14k pink gold settings. The focal points are two pear-shaped, cabochon-cut tourmalines with a combined weight of 34.40cts. When the light shines through these stones, the gems glow. At the top, you notice six square-cut pinkish red rubies that weigh a collective .80cts. For sparkle, artisans also added four full-cut diamonds weighing a total of .12cts. These earrings have an elegant flair that perfectly accessorizes a broad range of pink shades.
