Our Favorite Cocktail Rings from the 1950s and 1960s

In the 1950s and 1960s, the cocktail ring was de rigueur in the well-dressed woman’s jewelry box. Although there are modern versions of this design on the market, they frequently lack the artistry involved in the cutting and clustering of small stones. Moreover, the use of inexpensive settings makes many modern pieces look gaudy whereas the vintage ones have an air of chic and classiness. Look at these fantastic cocktail rings from that era, and you know what we mean.

Yellow Gold Ring with Tsavorite Garnets, Pink Spinels and White Diamonds

This masterpiece is unique. As a domed cocktail ring, it features 27 green Tsavorite garnets of varying cuts. Their combined weight is 8.61cts. Next, there are 29 round full-cut diamonds with a collective weight of 1.12cts. For the bright pink hues, the artisans chose eight oval spinels that weigh a total of 5.20cts. At the top, the ring’s width is 31.20mm; at the bottom, this measurement shrinks to 3.23mm.

White Gold Ring with an Opal and Plenty of Diamonds

This 1960s 14k white gold, classic cocktail ring features a sizable opal as the focal gem. It measures 16mm by 11mm. The stone displays a clear blue with swirls and bits of orange. The jewelry maker surrounded this gem with two rows of sparkling stones, which consist of 48 round diamonds. Their combined weight is 2.0cts.

Yellow Gold Ring with Morganite and Diamonds

If you adore the layered looks of the 1960s, this cocktail ring is a must-see. It starts with a 14k yellow gold setting. A light pink morganite weighs in at 8.70cts and displays with an oval shape. Set in a layer next to and behind it are 36 baguette-cut diamonds with a total weight of .90cts. The hallmark identifies this ring as a Mastro creation.

White Gold Ring with Red Hessonite Garnet and White Diamonds

You have to see this ring to believe it. It all starts with an 18k white gold setting. At the center of this 1950s cocktail ring, you see a red to orange Hessonite garnet that weighs a respectable 20.28cts. Ten round diamonds weighing a combined 3.60cts surround this stone. Another two baguette-cut diamonds weighing a total of 1.30cts center the stone by anchoring the display at the sides. At the top, the ring displays with a width of 25.84mm. At the bottom, this measurement is 2.49mm. The striking color of the focal gem is sure to get you plenty of attention.
