Cat Pin with Rose Quartz, Onyx and Rubies 

 

We date this pin to the 1950s. It features a 14k yellow gold setting. Two cats are sitting next to each other. Their eyes are made of rubies. The heads are two oval black onyx cabochons while the bodies are made of rose quartz cabochons. Tails, ears, noses, whiskers and collars are made of gold. They are so cute that they are bound to start conversations whenever you wear this adorable piece.

The jeweler chose 14k yellow gold to cradle the gemstones. At a length of 32 inches, this necklace beautifully accentuates a long dress, gown or blouse worn without being tucked in. There are six round amethysts weighing 36.0cts as well as six faceted round rose quartzes weighing a total of 48.0cts. They alternate along the length of the necklace. A truly spectacular piece.
