What Kind of Jewelry Would “Barbie” Wear?

We came across a funny article the other day that discussed how teens and tweens can be more like the famous doll Barbie. That made us start thinking if Barbie was a real-life doll what kind of jewelry would she wear? We know, crazy idea right—but we tackled it anyway!

Be a Role Model

One of the tips to be just like Barbie was to be a role model. To us, Tiffany & Co. jewelry screams “role model.” We think this vintage Tiffany 14k pink green gold retro deco ruby diamond bow pin would not only set her apart but make the other dolls really, really like her!

From the 1940s (definitely Barbie-ish-era) this pin includes four natural untreated custom gem cut rubies weighing approximately .25 carats. Take that mean girls!

Practice Good Hygiene

This is certainly a Barbie-wannabe must-do but when it comes to jewelry, what says clean and fresh like freshwater pearls? They are super clean in appearance yet delicate on any shade of skin. We chose this vintage white freshwater pearl necklace with .50 carats of diamonds. Simple yet stylish and something we think Barbie would love and be the envy of her friends.

At 16-3/4-inches long with 28 round diamonds this freshwater pearl necklace also has 14k white gold—stunning.

Barbie Works Out

It’s true many popular Barbie dolls show her ready to bike, swim and play tennis. What goes with tennis? Why a diamond tennis bracelet of course! We knew we’d have to choose quite the tennis bracelet to match Barbie’s tennis workout so we think we chose well.

This vintage art deco platinum and 18k gold diamond and sapphire tennis bracelet is the perfect choice for Barbie’s wrist. Circa 1930s, this bracelet includes three round diamonds with a total carat weight of .85 and 18 round diamonds with a total carat weight of 6.00 carats—you rock Barbie!

Do Your Nails

Barbie lovers know this doll loves to look great and that means great manicured nails with perhaps some pink polish to show her simple style. We chose this vintage 2.04 carat natural no heat emerald cut pink sapphire diamond ring. Barbie loves pink and so do her most faithful followers!

This ring has 20 full cut diamonds with a total weight count of .30 carats and is soft yet bright pink—perfect for Barbie and her friends.

Be Ambitious

Barbie is so ambitious—look at all of her careers! She’s been a nurse, a doctor, a businesswoman—the careers she has had is just endless. What do ambitious women want more than anything? A diamond ring to beat all other diamond rings! We think Barbie would love to wear something traditional like this vintage classic six-prong 2.13 carat 14k white gold round diamond solitaire ring.

Barbie has always been a “classic” kind of girl but with her ambition, this lovely diamond solitaire ring is bright and sparkly—just like Barbie.

  1. My 1959 Barbie had push-pin pearls as earrings. Ouch!
