Vintage Tourmaline: The “Other” Birthstone for October!

Ask almost anyone what the birthstone for October is and they’ll tell you it’s an opal. Some people believe it’s the tourmaline. Today, we thought we’d take a look at some of our favorite vintage tourmaline rings and if you hurry, you too can get one for you own birthday or to give as a gift!

Estate Tourmaline and Baguette Diamond Ring

We simply adore this 18k yellow gold swirl tourmaline ring from the 1960s. The tourmaline has a total carat weight of 3.18 but there are also baguette diamonds—20 of them with a carat weight of .75 carats. This slightly yellowish green tourmaline will wow your October birthday gal and it’s sizeable!

Vintage Designer Kristina Pink Tourmaline and Diamond Ring

From designer Kristina comes this 3.60 carat bright pink tourmaline ring with .34 carats of white diamonds. The ring is 18k gold and there are 34 full cut diamonds. Lovely on the hand and an absolute must-buy for the October birthday girl in your life.

Vintage Green/Blue Tourmaline Diamond Halo Ring

Halo rings are it these days—we are seeing them as special favorites of celebs as engagement rings. This vintage 7.53 carat green/blue tourmaline emerald cut halo ring may just fit the bill of breaking from tradition when proposing to your October girl. Made from 18k gold there are two trapezoid diamonds (.27 carats) and 70 full cut diamonds (.75 carats) and of course no one will miss the eye-grabbing genuine tourmaline gem! GIA Certificate included.

Vintage Bluish Green Tourmaline Diamond Ring

Set in 18k yellow gold is this vintage bluish green tourmaline diamond ring. The tourmaline gem is 3.74 carats and there are 16 full cut diamonds with a total carat weight of .60. This is a super rare, no-heat natural tourmaline ring!

Vintage GP Designer Tourmaline Diamond Ring

Looking for something just a little different for the October woman in your life? This GP designer tourmaline ring has a whopping 9.10 carats and is set in 14k yellow gold. There are 10 full cut round diamonds as well with a total carat weight of .20. We like the color of this tourmaline which appears pink on one end and peach on the other.

Platinum Tourmaline Diamond Halo Engagement Ring

This vintage engagement ring boasts 1.82 carats of natural blue tourmaline. Set in platinum, there are also 38 ideal full cut diamonds weighing .70 carats. We are especially proud of this ring as it comes right form the Peter Suchy workshop! The bright blue tourmaline shines, yet there’s still a bit of green and as we said before, halo rings are in!
