Jewelry Repair

Our in-house master jewelers have over 100 years of combined experience and they can perform all levels of jewelry repair from chain soldering to hand-made jewelry making. Our repair services include:

• Repair or replacement of old cut diamonds and colored stones
• Restoration of broken or scratched diamonds or colored gemstones
• Laser repairs on gold and silver with no harm to delicate stones
• Watch repair
• Simple jewelry repairs like broken clasps, etc.

 

Design Services

Many of our clients are pleased when they learn Peter Suchy has 20 years as a bench jeweler behind him. That means he looks at jewelry in a unique perspective. From hand-made designs to CAD designs, we are here to help you create the most stunning jewelry pieces and can offer tips and design suggestions. And, we ensure durability is built into every item we make!

 

Appraisals

Beyond being a GIA Graduate, Peter Suchy worked with Jack Newstadt, one of New England’s most accomplished gemologists for many years. From the ground up, Peter learned the ins and outs of how to appraise jewelry and today, our appraisal department is one of the finest in New England.

Estate Appraisals

Estate jewelry appraisals mean clients seek out the fair market value for jewelry within the estate. There are many hacks out there but as the official appraiser for Connecticut’s Attorney General’s Office, Peter ranks his estate jewelry appraisal services high. We have work with heirs of estates as well as courts. We photograph, itemize and number every piece within our estate appraisals and use our detailed knowledge and experience to offer the most complete and concise appraisals. We can also weed through and separate costume jewelry from the valuable and show you what should be—and shouldn’t  be included in an estate jewelry appraisals.

Insurance Appraisals

Very often, if you add a certified insurance appraisal to the invoice you’ll gain a guaranteed insurance replacement value—not just a fair market value. If your vintage, antique or estate jewelry pieces are stolen, our insurance jewelry appraisals include enough detail to establish a solid foundation for any claim or loss. Need to identify an heirloom gem? That’s easy for us because we have a well-equipped gem lab, the most modern microscopes and two complete diamond color master sets to grade any diamond. Plus our expert master jewelers have so much experience, yet we still know when to tell clients it’s best to go to GIA or AGTA for proper certification—that’s how honest we are.
