All About Van Dell Jewelry

John Van Dell established his jewelry house in 1935. Its customer base has routinely included clients from around the world. Unlike competitors who concentrate on creating pieces that need special occasions for display, Van Dell jewelry is designed with daily wear in mind. At this time, the company offers two distinct jewelry collections.

Its fine jewelry collection is a mix of collector’s items and one-of-a-kind pieces. Examples that underscore the breadth and depth of this collection are plentiful.

Yellow, pink and white diamond ring. The colors play beautifully off one another. In spite of the many pieces that make up the whole, it is actually quite dainty and perfectly suitable for daily wear.

14-kt Yellow gold starfish with white octopus. The necklace features two tone diamonds that accent the starfish. A smaller octopus is off to the side. The design is whimsical and small.

18-kt White gold sapphire ring. A piece of estate jewelry that is up for sale, this electric blue stone is surrounded by a halo of diamonds.

14-kt Rose gold smoky topaz ring. The indisputable attraction of this jewelry item is the topaz that makes up its middle. The setting and minute halo of white diamonds merely play second fiddle.

The second Van Dell collection consists of equestrian jewelry. Individual product lines include belt buckles, bridle plates, charms, pins, unique pieces and earrings.

Citrine and diamond horse head pendant. This one-of-a-kind item features 14kt white gold and a citrine cut in the shape of a horse’s head. It is outlines by a thin band of diamonds.

Boulder opal double horse heads set in silver. This is another unique item for the right jewelry collector. It features a highly detailed carving with Boulder opal as the medium. The outline is hugged by a band of sterling silver.

Arabian horse head. There is room for customization with this piece. It is made to adorn the neck of the rider who appreciates fine Arabian horses. Sizing is optional and pave may be added all along the mane or indeed the whole head.

This last piece underscores the tertiary focus of the Van Dell jewelry business: customization. In-house jewelry designers and metal-working experts collaborate with interested clients on the creation of custom pieces. Whether the client already has a sketch in hand or still just a vague idea of a piece he or she would like to buy, the experts at Van Dell can see a project through from the beginning of a concept to the final execution of a finished piece.

It is not uncommon for these jewels to cross the lines between unique classical pieces and equestrian jewelry. Depending on the client, some pieces may start out in an equestrian style but gradually move away from this design field as the client changes designs and adds or subtracts design elements. Offering this type of flexibility is a hallmark of Van Dell.
